How to become an UTZ CERTIFIED Chain of Custody member
In only 6 steps you know how!
In case you are NOT producing UTZ coffee but you are processing UTZ coffee, you may need to become UTZ Chain of Custody certified in order to guarantee that the coffee is UTZ in the next step of the chain. In order for you to know the specific practices you need to implement, please read the Chain of Custody (also available in Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Vietnamese).

The steps below are only applicable if a Chain of Custody certification is required:

Register here or go to www.goodinsideportal.org Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with an UTZ member number and login details. As a registered member of UTZ Certified, you have access to the following information:

Check the Coffee Chain of Custody and start implementing the good practices. To monitor your progress, you can use the Checklist (also in Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Vietnamese) for your self-assessment. |

We also highly recommend you to read the Certification Protocol, in which you will find guidelines of the program, structure, process of certification and other subjects which are of concern to you as a UTZ member. |

Once you comply with the Chain of Custody requirements, contact a Certification Body (CB) approved by UTZ to perform the audit. Please evaluate the different options and choose the one that suits you the best. If you have any doubts, please ask advice at the UTZ office via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Once UTZ Certified receives a copy of the certificate and a summary report of the audit from your Certification Body and all documents are in order, your certification body will issue a license that allows you to access our traceability system and manage your transactions in the Good Inside Portal. You can now trade UTZ Certified Coffee! |

When selling UTZ certified coffee, you need to register all transactions or manipulation of the beans in the Good Inside Portal. |
